I'm not a big shopper. I know that sounds funny coming from someone who now practically makes a living off of clipping coupons and making intricate lists and shopping at every store in town most every week. I just don't really get into it, and spending money makes my heart rate increase and I really prefer curling up on the couch with a good book or my guitar rather than braving the brightly lit, noisy grocery stores. It is people like me that ecommerce first thought of.
However, I am past the point of no return now.
And even more satisfying than being able to do this for us (as rewarding as it has been!) has been seeing other people figure it out. I was so so excited this Thursday when I went to the Haven... I was met at the door by everybody bragging on the success of one of the young ladies there who tried her hand at CVS last week and made a killing on laundry detergent and other necessities. I love to see peoples' faces light up, knowing that they have this tool, this knowledge that can make their lives better... and to see how eager they are to share that with others who need it. I think that must be what keeps teachers and pastors going... that "Aha!" I love that. It makes all the difficulty I have doing something that makes me uncomfortable worth it and then some.
